If I were to buy 3 pairs of these, would they all link together and use the same source to play over Bluetooth, or only via wifi connection?

The 3 sets would require grouping together over WiFi via the app to all playback the same source. You use the app to play music from whatever service you wish (spotify/youtube etc) and it will be shared to all grouped speakers.
Bluetooth is point-to-point only. It allows you to connect to a single pair of the speakers at a time. This is the same for any smart audio system, which is why many come with both BT and WiFi options

How are these speakers powered?

The active speaker is powered using the included mains power cable, while the passive speaker is powered as a slave unit from the active speaker using standard speaker cable (included).
